Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Friends of Blessed Kateri School:

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Elementary School serves the communities of Abbeydale and Applewood in North East Calgary .

It is a medium size elementary from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Over one half of our population are English as a Second Language speakers with the majority of the students from the Philippines and Vietnam.

We provide a varied instructional program preparing students to the best of their ability. We strive to foster a desire in our students to be life-long learners.

We are a Catholic Community of Caring school. We continually work to follow our school theme of JOY: Jesus, Others, Yourself.

Part of this work includes assisting students to become responsible citizens by teaching values based on sound Catholic education. We are involved in monthly Saint Groups where the students come together from grades K to 6. This helps build a greater sense of community. Many of our activities center on building awareness of our foster child, Jerry, from the Philippines and other members of our surrounding community who need assistance.

We have an excellent, dedicated and experienced staff. Highlights our school offers are:
